This message is for anyone who is having issues with Articulate it crashing on start up, meaning when the app crashes during the Smarty Ears logo opening screen.
We wanted to appologize for this bug, and please be reassured that we are doing our best, working overnight to fix this bug as soon as possible. In the mean time, if you really need to use Articulate it, you can easily backup, delete the app and reinstall it and the app will work correctly. If you have important student data, you can back up and reinstall it. We have a video tutorial on how to back up and restore your data. Please know that you do not need to open the app to backup the data, the app automatically backs up data so you do have a backup of your data on the device. Just plug it in on iTunes to save the data file.

If you are experiencing the app crashing on start up, you can help us by sending the crash reports.
Crash reports are files that contain data on the reason for the app crashing. Your device contains important data that could help us in fixing this issue in the next 24 hours. If you send us a crash report from your device, you will get a free Smarty Ears app code.
Here is how to send the file to us. Now you need to navigate to the folder where iTunes copied any crash reports. This depends on what platform you are using.
1. If you are a Mac user:
1st. Plug your iPad into your computer and open iTunes;
2nd. Click the synchronize button to synchronize your iPad files;
3rd. Exit iTunes and navigate to the following folders: Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/[DEVICE_NAME]
4th. You will look for a file called “map” dated any date from last Friday to today.
See below how the file will look like:
Once you find the file, please e-mail it to us at [email protected]
You will do same steps as above but the files will be on these locations:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\[DEVICE_NAME]
Windows Vista or 7: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\[DEVICE_NAME]
Since we will need crash reports, please send .crash files only. Here is an example of a random crash report name: mappocket_2011-06-26-204442_etchijovs-iPad.crash. As you can see, the crash report file name has following structure:[APP_NAME]_[DATE]_[DEVICE_NAME].crash.
The more details you provide the better chances to fix the bug. So, in your email please be as decsriptive as possible about what you were doing when the crash happened.
